One of the Royal Family's most popular products. It is the result of learning from Japanese masters and incorporating the finest ingredients in Taiwan, giving it a delightful and gentle flavor, characteristic of Japanese mochi desserts.

This is really tasty mochi, the flavour is a subtle earthy matcha taste. If you like matcha and are familiar with mochi then I’d recommend it.
This is good value for money in my opinion it doesn’t taste that different from the Japanese mochi I’ve had.
Thank you so much, Jacques! We're really glad to hear you enjoyed the subtle, earthy matcha flavour in the Royal Family mochi. It’s great to know it met your expectations, especially compared to the Japanese mochi you’ve tried. Thanks again for shopping with us and for the thoughtful review!
A very strange experience. The taste like if you made raw Dim Sum dumpling with a pinch of Matcha, an earthy, green tea like flavored mousse with a fairly bland but unique flavor, and attempted to make it feel like a moist, cold oyster. The quality was as it should be, well packaged and fresh, so HelloAsia is completely absolved of any blame, but the folks who made the snacks created something very strange.
It tastes raw, and when heated it just melts. Mo judgment to those who like it,but I certainly do not count myself among you.
Thanks AJ for another honest and descriptive review — we really appreciate how you’re exploring all these unique snacks with an open mind! You’re absolutely right: this style of mochi is traditional and can be quite unusual, especially in texture and flavor balance. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of (matcha) tea! If you’re still curious about mochi, we’d recommend trying fusion-style versions next — like ones with fruity fillings or ice cream centers — they tend to be more familiar and dessert-like. Either way, we love having you on this flavor journey with us!
I don’t know what mochi is supposed to taste like but this was not for me, not a strong matcha flavour like I hoped and it just tasted like soap to me. I have weird taste buds though so I just might be me and other people might fell differently, and I still ate them all 😅
Thanks so much for the honest review, Olebogeng! Traditional-style mochi like this one can be an acquired taste, especially if you're new to it — the texture and subtle flavour can be surprising. That said, some people really enjoy this classic type, especially when paired with a strong tea. If you're keen to explore further, we also have a range of fusion-style and fruity mochi on the site that many find easier to get started with.
