I think because it was my first time eating

I think because it was my first time eating mochi and I’ve obviously never tasted it before this I’m not a big fan

Thank you for giving it a shot! We truly appreciate your honesty, especially since traditional red bean mochi is an acquired taste for first-timers. Most people find that fusion-style mochi suits more palates, and you can find many of those options on our website if you want to try something different.

Cool box, VERY affordable, but not to my taste

I've always wanted to try Mochi. I had no idea what it would taste like and thought perhaps something like sweet Dim Sum.
But this is just odd. They were fresh and you could tell of high quality, so just personal taste, but the texture was just too alien for me. It tastes like raw Dim Sum, with a subdued sweet flavor, almost like the flavoring was accidental. It is also cold and clammy like a sweetened oyster, so I heated half of them up to see if they were perhaps raw, but the just melted and tasted the same but hot.
A favored Japanese snack, but not something I enjoyed.

Thanks for giving mochi a try and for such a vivid and thoughtful review, AJ! This particular red bean mochi is more traditional and definitely an acquired taste — soft, chewy, mildly sweet, and rooted in centuries of Japanese dessert culture. For many modern palates, fusion-style mochis (like fruity, creamy, or ice cream-filled ones) tend to be a gentler introduction. We really appreciate your open-mindedness and hope you’ll discover a version that hits the spot for you!
